The number of vehicles on the road pales in comparison to ones under the Waymo and Uber banners. The same registry showed 577 vehicles registered to Waymo and 317 to <\/span><span>Avride<\/span><span> and another 47 to <\/span><span>Nuro<\/span><span>, both Uber partners in that company\u2019s robotaxi expansion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A <\/span><span>recently enacted Texas law<\/span><span> requires AV operators in that state to self-certify that their vehicles comply with Level 4 SAE standards. The rules became enforceable on Thursday. He slashed that to 60 shortly after. <\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>The expansion has run into issues not only with regulators\u2014along with the admission that driverless cars have been <\/span><span>human supervised in different ways<\/span>\u2014<span>but also among <\/span><span>shareholders who say they were duped by Tesla<\/span> when it comes to the vehicles\u2019<span> level of autonomy. These improvements are apparently due later this year, or in early 2027, but the fact remains that rivals are pressing forward rather than retreating. <\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>It\u2019s worth noting the <\/span><span>various safety hiccups<\/span><span> by companies like leader Waymo, like a recall over issues with flooded roads earlier this month.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>And investors are no doubt anxious after Tesla\u2019s shifted its emphasis from human-operated EVs.
