President Donald Trump referred to the social media platform TikTok as \u201cTic Tac\u201d on Wednesday, at least the third time he\u2019s done that in the past week. The president\u2019s verbal slips appear to be more frequent these days. Appearing at a NATO summit in Turkey on Wednesday, Trump also talked about the \u201cIslamic Republic of Japan,\u201d mistakenly called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky \u201cPresident Putin,\u201d and called Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin \u201cLen-een.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear whether all of this is a result of Trump\u2019s advanced age, his international travel schedule, or the fact that he\u2019s always been rather dim. The president went on a rant about \u201ccommunists\u201d on Wednesday, first rambling about how none of his political opponents had \u201cthe look\u201d needed to succeed and then insisting that anyone who called themselves a social democrat was actually a communist.<\/p>\n

Later, when asked about his communism comments, Trump said, \u201cI talk about it on Tic Tac,\u201d mispronouncing the name of the video app.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just hours earlier, the president also called TikTok by the name \u201cTic Tac,\u201d but did so during a rant about how popular he is on the platform. Trump claimed he\u2019s \u201cnumber one\u201d on the app, something he also said Monday during an announcement with Michael Dell at the White House.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear what Trump means by \u201cnumber one,\u201d but if he means the highest number of followers, that\u2019s not true. Trump has 16.6 million followers on TikTok, while the actual number is Khaby Lane with 162 million followers, according to Wikipedia. Trump doesn\u2019t even crack the top 50 most-followed accounts.<\/p>\n

Trump, who\u2019s incredibly unpopular with Gen Z voters, called TikTok \u201cTic Tac\u201d on Monday as part of a rant against Taylor Swift, who he claimed is less popular than he is on the platform. Asked about SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell\u2019s recent donations to Trump accounts, he randomly brought up something he\u2019d seen on Maria Bartiromo\u2019s Fox News show about TikTok still being a Chinese threat. His own popularity was evidence that wasn\u2019t the case, he claimed, especially since he frequently whines about communism these days.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe numbers just came out, and I said, \u2018Well, I\u2019m hearing about how they influence. They are talking about [how] they\u2019re a tremendous danger because of the influence,\u201d Trump ranted. \u201cIf they influence so badly, I\u2019m saying all things like I love our country, we have to stop Communism. We\u2019re doing a lot of things.\u201d<\/p>\n
