{"id":810,"date":"2026-07-08T22:42:47","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T22:42:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/longhaulmovingpros.com\/?p=810"},"modified":"2026-07-08T22:42:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T22:42:47","slug":"more-and-more-lampposts-in-california-new-york-and-connecticut-will-soon-charge-evs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/longhaulmovingpros.com\/?p=810","title":{"rendered":"More and More Lampposts in California, New York, and Connecticut Will Soon Charge EVs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><span>More electric vehicles on the road means more people are looking at charging options, including curbside or lamppost installations. <\/span><span>Voltpost<\/span><span>, a lamppost EV charger company, is the latest firm to expand across the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/longhaulmovingpros.com\/?p=808\">The Future Is Always Listening: OpenAI Says Its New Voice Assistant Is \u2018One Step Closer to a Truly Accessible AGI\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>The New York City-based company announced yesterday in a <\/span><span>LinkedIn post<\/span><span> that it\u2019s expanding into the California, Connecticut, and New York markets this year after earning a grant earlier this year for <\/span><span>installations in Washington, D.C.<\/span><span> Voltpost is working with Los Angeles-based <\/span><span>InCharge Energy<\/span><span> to perform the installations and maintenance with real-time monitoring, a persistent problem with public EV charging.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In April, Voltpost was one of three companies to get part of a nearly $610,000 grant from the Department of Energy and Environment of the District of Columbia. The company plans to retrofit as many as 16 utility poles through the D.C. grant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/longhaulmovingpros.com\/?p=806\">Millions of Driver\u2019s License Numbers Exposed in Massive Data Breach<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>Voltpost isn\u2019t the only game in town for curbside and\/or lamppost chargers, and more cities and companies are interested in the technology as a way to meet demand, particularly for EV owners who don\u2019t have off-street parking or the ability to add a Level 2 charger where they live. The problem has been to work with municipalities to get electricity to the curb if there isn\u2019t any. Voltpost\u2019s solution is to use existing utility poles.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>It\u2019s unclear where in California, Connecticut and New York Voltpost\u2019s new charging stations will be, but the company did say yesterday that it has plans for more markets. City parking restrictions will also apply, depending on where they go.
