Razer Is Back With Another Insufferably Cute Gaming Headset

If you thought Razer reached peak cuteness with its Cinnamoroll-themed collection, you may want to think again. Razer sees its own puppy-ear-clad gaming headset and is raising that cutesy-ass gambit with… another puppy-eared gaming headset.

As evidenced in a Target listing spotted by Dexerto, Pompompurin will be the next Sanrio character to get the Razer treatment. Similar to the Cinnamoroll tie-in, Pompompurin is getting immortalized in a themed Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT gaming headset that will cost $140 and arrive at Target online/IRL on Oct. 4.

Razer notes in the listing that features in this new headset include Pompompurin ears to “express your style,” Bluetooth 5.2 to (presumably) express your wireless connection, and 40mm drivers to express the sounds of virtual gunfire in your ear as you snipe people in Counter Strike 2 while looking like you got lost on a guided tour at the Furry Hall of Fame (that’s not a real place; I just made it up to illustrate a point).

The Pompompurin gaming headset has 40 hours of battery life and integrated microphones for chatting in games (no boom mic, though), and there’s no noise cancellation here, but I don’t mind that in a gaming headset. Let’s be honest: none of what I just said matters because, if you’re buying this impossibly cute gaming headset, it’s for the floppy dog ears.

I can’t say I’m a big Sanrio guy myself, but I did a quick Google search to look at other characters, and my personal vote for the next victim is this ugly blue fish guy. Who do you want to see Razer-ified next? Sound off in the comments, as they say.
